You may recognize these friendly faces from some yoga classes at Indigo but if you haven't officially met them yet, meet our Father/Daughter duo, Larry and Danielle Maoli! These two have been inspiring us for months... as individuals, they are both genuinely nice people, and together they have a beautiful father-daughter relationship that inspires so we want to share their story with all of you!

All you dad's out there... trying to find the perfect way to bond with Daddy's little girl? Are you thinking "no way. my daughter will put me to shame  in a yoga class!".... not Larry! At the age of 57, Larry has now been doing yoga for over 15 years. He started out doing yoga at home to Rodney Yee videos and has been focusing on self improvement ever since. He is always trying out more and more advanced poses in classes. (Seriously... check out his headstands and half moons!!!!) Larry says that yoga has helped him off the mat to stay focused and balanced in many life situations. Danielle says she finds inspiration in a lot of things and people... her father and Indigo Yoga being two of many.

While discussing the idea of yoga being beneficial both on and off the mat, Danielle explains, "I am able to take my yoga practice off the mat & use it in every day situations. Yoga has taught me how to stay calm & centered  in any type of situation. I always feel so much lighter, grounded & clear when I step off the mat." When we asked each of them what their personal mantra and focus, both Danielle and Larry answered "yoga is more than a movement, it is a way of life." Danielle's  focus during her yoga practice is being present in the moment and focusing on her breath - "allowing myself to really drop into my body and challenge myself to reach further in each pose." Danielle will be 24 this year and has been practicing yoga on and off for 8 years. Her favorite yoga pose is eagle because it makes her feel balanced and focus. Her and her father both love inversions "because they are fun and they keep you looking young!"
